What does the name Angel Lisa stand for?
Angel Lisa is named in memory of Dr. Mary Tao's sister Lisa, one of the early advocates for environmental conservation and restoration. At the age of 18, Lisa passed away from bone cancer in 1998. Lisa has written books about the rainforest and helped start one of the first rainforest restoration foundations. In fact, during her four years of combat with cancer, Lisa used all of her savings and gifts from families and friends to donate to these conservation initiatives.
We at Angel Lisa would like to pass on Lisa's legacy by focusing on the ocean environment. Farming Gold Seaweed not only provides shelter and protection for marine species, but also offers an alternative livelihood to Belizean people. Alternative livelihoods are needed to discourage people from participating in destructive industrialization or irresponsible practices for survival. All of our profits will go towards the goal of restoring a clean, healthy environment. And not just for future generations: also for this generation as the rapid destruction by mankind is already causing significant global disasters of excessive warming, hurricanes, toxins in our food and water and alarming concentrations of environmental pollution and carcinogens. From Lisa to Angel Lisa, we hope to create a ripple effect to enlist more to join us. Together, you and us, we can make our world a better place!

Angel Lisa products are made and manufactured in the United States. Our Gold Seaweed comes from Belize.
Where is Belize?
Belize is a small country in Central America, west of the Caribbean Sea, east of Guatemala, and south of the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula. The country of Belize is often referred to as "Mother Nature's Best Kept Secret": undeveloped, unspoiled and still full of pure, natural beauty!
